Coffee
In the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe on the slopes of Vumba’s mountains, Zimunda Estate opens onto a terraced plantation of shade-grown, high-altitude Arabica coffee.
Once a thriving cash crop, Zimbabwe’s coffee industry faced a steep decline in recent decades. Zimunda Estate has invested a labour of love in re-generating the legacy of single-origin, specialty coffee in Zimbabwe. Starting with a few mature coffee bushes on the estate, we have steadily revived the plantation. Our coffee still grows from the original varietals planted during the farm’s inception, and recalls the same flavour profile of fruity acidity from this bygone era. We are proud to guard and build the Estate’s rich history by introducing new sustainable agriculture practices, such as aquaponics-based irrigation, agroforestry, and organic cover crops.
Explore Zimunda Estate and our sustainable family coffee farm on the journey from field to cup. Beginning with a farm walk, you'll see the coffee terraces, pulping and drying areas. Not only will you get to sample some of our freshly roasted coffee, but you can also purchase our “Black Market” coffee to enjoy at home.
